Final Reflection
What have I learnt in this module?
First and foremost, I have learned to use a variety of design principles, which will be quite valuable in the creation of my future artwork. Because I am not a design student, I always believe that I am lacking in basic knowledge. Nonetheless, with this subject, I have grasped the fundamentals of design.
Second, I learnt time management because this semester is short, and each assessment must be completed promptly. So I learnt how to better manage my time to fulfil deadlines.
Thirdly, I learned electronic painting, although I did not master it. But the previous module didn't give me a chance to use the iPad to draw. As I am good at drawing on paper, I am forced by the nature of the assignment (which needs to be changed at any time), so electronic painting is a good way of presentation. I find it rewarding.
What did I enjoy the most?
What I most enjoy is the possibility to study a wide range of artwork on the network. I believe this is the easiest section of the module, and I am not under any duress. And it's at the start of each assignment, so there's still time. I felt really respectful when I saw each of the works virtually perfectly portrayed in my head.
What did I not enjoy the most?
I believe it is the beginning of translating references into new creations. Because it is difficult and requires intelligence. I need to consider whether such a layout will detract from the overall presentation. I also have to worry about doing my work in the time allotted by the lecturer, therefore I must complete my own work in the easiest method possible.
What have I learnt about myself through this module?
I discovered more about my passion for drawing, which I hadn't had a chance to draw since I graduated from middle school. It's not that I don't enjoy it any longer, but I believe it takes a lot of time, and I need to be motivated when I'm in a good mood. As a result, I didn't get the opportunity to draw. This module will provide me with a valid cause to draw. I fell in love with it all over again, and I aspire to create more pieces in the future.
What has changed and what has not in my learning journey?
My perspective on artworks shifted, and I began to examine them from a new perspective. And investigate their value rather than simply looking at the works through subjective consciousness.
Meanwhile, more inventive work has yet to progress. I've always thought of myself as lacking in imagination, therefore my work feels ordinary rather than exceptional. It is something I need to work on more.
What could be improved in this module?
I believe I can find more works to study on the Internet. And take a more active role in the lecturer's evaluation of students in class. And consider whether I have made the same error. Thus, I can learn from my mistakes and progress alongside everyone else.
In addition, I can improve my design skills. For example, I could learn more about Adobe illustration by watching instructional videos on the Internet. There will never be a time when I won't be able to present what I want. My ideas are perfectly expressed in my artwork.
